Makeup on a Budget Series: E.L.F. Cosmetics Flawless Foundation Review

Hello all,

This week I will be reviewing the E.L.F. Cosmetics Flawless Foundation.  I just recently ordered this foundation once E.L.F. released more shades.  I have always wanted to try out this foundation due to the price and plus I love E.L.F. Cosmetics but unfortunately, they didn’t have a foundation shade that matched my skin tone. Once they did the big release of new shades I was excited more than ever to find a shade that would match my skin tone and try it out.  Here are the foundation details below.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Flawless Foundation – $6.00

This best-selling liquid foundation now in 40 shades! The lightweight, oil-free formula blends naturally into skin for a beautiful semi-matte finish that lasts all day long. The liquid formula helps restores uneven skin textures and tones for visibly brighter skin. Perfect for all skin-types.

Review

I decided to order this foundation directly from the website due to the fact that the stores in my local area just don’t carry darker skin tone shades in stock or they sell out very quickly.  I was surprised that when I did go to the website E.L.F. offered a shade finder option in which you can put in what your shade foundation match that is in other cosmetic lines and then the finder will suggest the best shade for you. According to the shade finder, the shade that would closely match would be Caramel.  I placed my order on the E.L.F. Cosmetics website along with a few more of my E.L.F. faves and within a few days, the order arrived.

The foundation packaging I can say is so cute and I love that this foundation has a pump. I also like that the foundation container was glass which I always love.  Can I tell you that the drug store brands are coming for everyone? I have been quite impressed with what the drug store brands are doing as far as new product releases.

The next morning I decided to give the foundation a try since I will pretty much be out of the house the full day.  This will give me a chance to see how the foundation holds up. The foundation shade was a great match and applying this on top of the E.L.F Cosmetics Moisture Lock Hydrating Face Primer ,the application was flawless.   I loved the satin finish of the foundation and I loved that it didn’t feel heavy at all on my skin.  The foundation is medium coverage but you can surely build it up. I also love the fact that this foundation is oil-free but not too matte. I have dry combination skin and using products that are really matte doesn’t work that well on my skin.

The real test is how did this foundation hold up?  I pretty much wore the foundation for about 10 hours and by the time I got home later that evening, I didn’t have that icky feeling that I sometimes have when I have to rush to wash off my makeup.   I was quite impressed that this $6 dollar foundation held up as well as the prestigious brands. In this picture below you can see how it held up after 10 hours of wear.  I can say that I was very impressed with this foundation and I plan on purchasing more of it in the future.
