This week I am reviewing some skin care cleansers that I recently had the privilege to try out. I am all about skin care and as I get older, great skin care is a must. So this week I will be reviewing the Skin Ceuticals Simply Clean Gel and the Perricone MD Gentle Cleanser.
I have been testing out these cleansers for about two months and I am finally ready to give my take and opinion on each. As you know I am now in my forties and I have become a skincare junkie. At this point in my life, I am more aware of how important skincare is so from time to time I like to try out different products just to see how my skin would react. I have dry combination skin and I am dealing at times with instances of hormonal acne. I know as I get older I will go through some hormonal changes but the effects of these changes on my skin have been hard to deal with. So I have been on a mission to find a skin care regimen that will work for me.
Skin Ceuticals Simply Clean Gel
I was introduced to this cleanser by my aesthetician at the spa that I regularly go to for my facials. This particular time I was getting a Hydrafacial because over the course of a couple of months I had been dealing with more instances of hormonal acne breakouts and my aesthetician suggested that I try the Hydrafacial in which I did. The facial is quite expensive but it was worth every penny. After my facial was complete one of the suggestions that I received from her was to try this particular cleanser out. At this point, I would try anything that would help with my skin issues so I purchased this cleanser. Below are the details of this cleanser.

During the week, I wear makeup every day to work so my aesthetician suggested that I use this cleanser. The next day after I got home from work, I tried this cleanser out. This cleanser felt so great on my face. I have never tried a cleanser that felt so great when applying it to my skin. I can say that it took every bit of makeup off my face and once I was done, my skin felt pretty great and hydrating. I didn’t experience any dryness as far as my skin. As far as my hormonal acne I can say it helps a little bit but not as well as I hoped, but during the winter months for sure this cleanser will be great. So overall I wasn’t disappointed and I plan on purchasing this cleanser again once I run out.
Perricone MD Gentle Cleanser
On my quest to find a cleanser that would help with my current skin issues one of my great friends suggested that I try out the Perricone MD Gentle Cleanser. She had been having similar issues with her skin so at her suggestion I purchased this cleanser from my local Sephora store. Below are the details of this cleanser.
Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser is an ultra-gentle cleanser for dry skin and delicate skin that effectively removes dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping skin of natural oils. - Ideal for sensitive skin.
- Refreshes, smoothes and comforts the skin.
- Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and dermatologist-tested.
After picking up this cleanser, I decided to give it a try the next morning. I can say that this cleanser is pretty gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin. The way that this cleanser felt on my skin wasn’t too bad and I felt that the cleanser really cleaned my skin. Over the next couple of weeks, I felt that the cleanser really kept my skin at bay but as predicted the hormonal acne came back again. I realized that I will now need to add some more steps to my routine to combat my acne issue. This cleanser is pretty good and I plan on purchasing more in the future.
Overall, these cleansers are pretty good. The cleansers are on the high end as far a price point but I have found that you may have to pay a little extra for the results that you want. I plan on going to a dermatologist here soon just to see if I would need to battle my acne from within. I believe that if I can get my hormones under control it will surely help with the acne issues that I have been having.
Well, that is all for this skincare review. Feel free to comment below on what has worked for you as far as skin care.
